Daniel Osamuyimwen Iyamu is a microfinance and risk management expert. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA), Member of the Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, (MCIB). He is a certified trainer, holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) and a Higher National Diploma (HND) Accountancy and MSc in Accountancy (In view). He is a certified Trainer, Facilitator and Coach TFC. His interests are in the areas of corporate governance, compliance and risk management, microfinance project implementation, strategy development and capacity building. Daniel began his career with LAPO in 2005 and has executed several projects across different positions held. He took a leading role in the project ‘Challenging the Structure’ which was geared towards improving the internal control processes of LAPO Group. He was also at the vanguard of LAPO MfB Ltd. business expansion drive to the South-Western and South-Eastern parts of Nigeria, establishing 15 business units. He was also in the team that implemented the Core Banking System (Orbit-R) in LAPO Microfinance Bank.
Daniel has implemented several Capacity Building Projects on Financial Literacy for Village Savings and Credit Group for Rural Finance Institution Building Programme (RUFIN) across the six (6) geo-political zone. He played a leading role in the implementation of the GIZ/SEDIN/GOPA project which was aimed at empowering youths for employability and scaling up of MSMEs. Also, he conducted System Assessment and Business Process Re-engineering for several other microfinance institutions in Nigeria. He has attended as well as conducted several national and international seminars and conferences on microfinancing and community development.
Daniel believes in giving back to the society by way of service, this have earned him leadership position both in the professional and social space. Specifically, he is
