
Ihuoma, Helen Ihuoma (CLN), is currently the pioneer chief librarian at LAPO Institute for Microfinance and Management Studies. She is a researcher, facilitator, and a specialist in setting up virgin libraries. She led the team that set up LAPO Institute hybrid library, our Lady of Fatima college library and also served as departmental librarian in University of Nigeria Library School. Helen has a B.Sc. and MLS in Library and Information Science from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. A member of Nigeria Library Association (NLA) and also a Certified Librarian with Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN). Her interest spans across librarianship, research, teaching and education administration. She was part of the team that successfully conducted the research on Corporate Governance and Microfinance Productivity in Nigeria in 2019.
Research constitutes the very fulcrum of our intervention strategies.
The Institute conducts researches and empirical studies in the field of microfinance, enterprise development and poverty.
The outcome of our research serves as a rich reservoir of knowledge for the growth of the microfinance sector.
Key areas include market intelligence survey, employees’ engagement survey, branch feasibility studies, clients’ satisfaction surveys, Poverty Probability Index studies, microinsurance actuarial survey and organizational training needs assessments.
Special studies, such as corporate governance and institutional performance, are also conducted on a series basis.
