ABOUT THE LIBRARY
Who we are
LAPO Institute for Microfinance and Management Studies (LAPO INSTITUTE ), a fully accredited academic institution, has a functional Library situated at the 2nd floor of the school building. It is a well-equipped state-of-the-art information hub established to provide library and information services to students, lecturers, researchers as well as affiliate institutions within the LAPO ecosystem.
The library has over 5,000 collections which include books, journals, reference materials, special collections as well as serials in print and non- print format covering subjects within our academic and non-academic areas to support teaching, learning and research. Our resources are well organised using the Library of Congress (LC) cataloguing and classification scheme.
We pride ourselves as the core archive centre for all LAPO Publications as well as relevant research materials in microfinance and enterprise development such as annual report, LAPO Development Forum report as well as LAPO retrospective training materials and many more.
Courses Offered
LAPO INSTITUTE  is an accredited Monotechnic which offers part-time and full-time National Diploma (ND) Programmes in the following course areas:

  • Microfinance and Enterprise Development
  • Accountancy
  • Banking and Finance
  • Business Administration

Therefore the library has several books and journals collections in print and non-print format to support learning, teaching and research in all it areas of specialities.
Our Services 

  • Readers’  Services

The library offers reader’s services to students, researchers, faculty as well as other registered stakeholders. The library is open for services from 8.30am to 4.30pm Mondays to Fridays.

  • Circulation Services

The library offers loan and other ancillary services to registered users in line with the library circulation policy.

  • Electronic Information Services

We also offer online Reference services to internal and external registered library clients through calls, e-mails, as well as the Library Business WhatsApp. 

  • Selective dissemination of information (SDI)

Represents one of the important value-added personalised services we offer to our clientele. We keep our user community informed about the latest literature on topics of interest, thus helping them keep abreast of resources in their areas of interest.

Electronic Library Services
Electronic library services are contemporary library services which affords researchers, the opportunities of sourcing numerous online resources for academic works as well as other information needs.
 LAPO INSTITUTE  e-library therefore operates in a serene and fully air-conditioned environment where clients access materials online using our computer systems within the hours of 8.30am to 4.30pm.
