Mr. Joseph Icheku is currently the Ag. Chief Librarian, LAPO Institute for Microfinance and Management Studies. He was the pioneer College Librarian of Baptist College of Theology, Benin City, Edo state where he transformed the main library and other Information Management Systems (MIS) of the college. He is also one of the pioneer library staff that championed the setting-up of the Institute’s library and has since served as the Assistant Librarian. He has keen interest in Library & Information Management Systems (LIMS) hybrid library administration, knowledge management (KM) as well as setting up virgin libraries. He is a graduate of Imo State University Library School, member of Nigerian Library Association (NLA) and currently a post-graduate student at the Delta State University, Abraka, Delta State.

The Institute conducts researches and empirical studies in the field of microfinance, enterprise development and poverty.
The outcome of our research serves as a rich reservoir of knowledge for the growth of the microfinance sector.
Key areas include market intelligence survey, employees’ engagement survey, branch feasibility studies, clients’ satisfaction surveys, Poverty Probability Index studies, microinsurance actuarial survey and organizational training needs assessments.
Special studies, such as corporate governance and institutional performance, are also conducted on a series basis.
