
Vacancy: Head, Information and Communications Technology
LAPO Institute for Microfinance and Management Studies, a leading institution dedicated to providing high-quality education and training in microfinance and management, seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the position of Head, Information and Communications Technology (ICT). This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the Institute's ICT infrastructure, systems, and services.
Job Summary:
The Head, ICT will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Institute's ICT department, ensuring alignment with the overall institutional goals and objectives. The role encompasses the planning, implementation, maintenance, and security of all ICT systems, including network infrastructure, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications. The Head, ICT will also be responsible for developing and managing the ICT budget, leading a team of ICT professionals, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality ICT services to the Institute's staff, students, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the Institute's ICT strategic plan, aligned with the institutional vision and objectives.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Institute's network infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and scalability.
- Manage the selection, implementation, and support of software applications and hardware, ensuring they meet the needs of the Institute.
- Develop and enforce ICT policies and procedures, including data security, disaster recovery, and acceptable use policies.
- Manage the ICT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation.
- Lead and mentor the ICT team, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
- Provide technical support and training to staff and students on the use of ICT systems and applications.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the Institute's ICT capabilities.
- Manage relationships with external ICT vendors and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), CISCO and Microsoft Certification, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in ICT management or a similar role.
- Proven experience in managing ICT infrastructure, delivering projects, and leading teams.
